About Mark Burns

Mark Burns, one of the top real estate professionals in Silicon Valley offers the best support and experience in buying and selling residential real estate.

I have extensive experience and have been involved in hundreds of transactions that have included:

  • 1031 Exchanges
  • Sales involving Trusts
  • Prop 60 and Prop 90 tax transfers
  • Partnerships
  • LLP and LLC
  • Rental property and non-owner occupied
  • Move-up, downsize, lifestyle change, retirement, first home, etc.

I utilize the latest technology to stay in touch with clients before, during, and after the transaction. I respond (usually in less than an hour) to voicemail, email, texts and I answer the phone when it rings too.

Over 850 sales in Silicon Valley since I was originally licensed in 1985 including single family, condominium, townhouse, duplex, multi-family, and land. The smallest home I’ve sold was 500 square feet and the largest was over 7000 square feet.

I am considered an expert in both the California Association of Realtors and PRDS purchase contracts and supported documents. I have served as President of PRDS (the contracts and documents subsidiary of the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors) for 11 years and on their Board of Directors and Standard Forms Committee for more than 15 years. I have served 3 years on the California Association of Realtors Standard Forms Committee.

My commitment to the community is important as well. I currently serve on two Independent Citizen’s Oversight Committees to oversee School Bonds for Fremont Union High School District and Cupertino Union School District. Together; these two committees oversee $700M in upgrades and improvements to our local schools. I have served as Chair for both these committees.

I created the ‘Realtors Support 'CEEF' (Cupertino Educational Endowment Fund) and ‘Realtors Support Sunnyvale Schools’ and ‘Realtors Support Santa Clara Schools’ programs designed to enable agents to donate $250 per transaction to these school foundations.

I was awarded Alumnus of the Year for Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose for 20 years of work dedicated to providing book scholarships for students on financial aid.

I am a recipient of the Fremont Union High School District Friend of Education award for 20 years of support and service. Each year I present the SilVAR Scholarship Award at Lynbrook High School.

I was a member of Cupertino Rotary for 24 years, Director for the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce for 13 years, have graduated from Leadership Cupertino, been President of the Silicon Valley Realtors and Homeowner’s Political Action Committee (trustee for 20 years), and twice been the recipient of the SilVAR Most Charitable Realtor Award chosen from 4000+ members once each year.
